Although 90% of the Microwave Technologies Today represent  communication applications -  its origin and  the 1st utilization came from its. "power application" during the WWII.

Power Applications include both Radiolocation, Industrial MW Heating Plasma technologies, Drying and Material Processing - while most of the communications we do not assume as the power applications.

Both areas are worthy as the MW range is the highest frequency that is possible to modulate by the artificial L-C circuit. Higher frequencies are generated only by natural sources (moleculas, atoms) for example in laser etc.
